Are their tests honest? Or like the US where they count deaths with c19 but not necessarily from c19
I'm not sure about that. If a heart patient who tested positive for Covid19 and has mild symptoms dies from a heart attack, he may or may not be counted. Can't find specifics on that.
However, the reported number of covid19 deaths in The Netherlands is about half of what it would be with 100% testing.
How do we know? Because statistics show a lot more people died in the past few months than could be expected based on statistics. Since there is no other (obvious) explanation for this other than covid19, we can conclude these extra deaths are covid19 related. Either because these people died from covid19, or from the effects covid19 has on society and the health care system.
This also aligns with what family doctors and doctors in nursing homes report: there are quite a few people who have all symptoms of covid19, choose to not go to hospital, and die before/without being tested. These deaths aren't counted in the official number of covid19 deaths.
The same is probably true for most other countries.
What do ststistics says about the number of deaths in the USA in the past weeks? Does it appear number of covid19 deaths are over- or undereported?

In The Netherland 5775 people died of Covid-19 so far.*
On a population of 17.280.000.
That's 0.033%.
Converted to 29.000 dubs that would be only 10 victims.
JW report 87 deaths. That's 9 times the expected number, or about 5 times the expected number of victims based on memorial attendance.
Of course, in cases like these the sample size may not be enough to conclude the numbers are significant.
(Either my brain doesn't work properly because of that bottle of wine I finished or I have to disagree with SBF by a factor of 10.)
Edit to add: regardless of religious conviction or affiliation, every victim is one too many, and mourned for by friends and family.
*) This is confirmed cases only. Statistically speaking, based on the number of people dying per day, covid19 related deaths seem to be about twice that number.

The item is dated April 27th. If it were true, there would have been an official statement by now.
@John Redwood thanks for pointing out the lack of reliability of the source.
i was 20 years old and at bethel for just a couple of months.
i was really depressed, as i was finding out what bethel was really all about.
i drank a whole bottle of cold duck, after a long hot subway ride back to brooklyn.
If I'm not mistaken it was at my 10 year wedding anniversary, so that would be at age 31.
We celebrated with family and (JW) friends at our place.
Drank beers and (spiked) sangria from 8pm til 3am when all (but one) friends had left. That wasn't even the real issue. I was just buzzing a little bit.
Then the one friend who was left - and stayed at our home for what was left of the night - said, while already on his way to bed: "Too bad there aren't any beers left."
We still had 3 quarters of a bottle of the gin that was used to spike the sangria, so I told him jokingly "we can finish that bottle ;-)"
"You know you must never dare me"
"I dare you"
15 minutes later that bottle was empty, and soon after my bedroom changed into a fast spinning carnival ride.
I'll skip some details. Rest assured that shortly before passing out I managed to quickly push my meeting shoes out of harm's way.
When I woke up it was 3pm, and I was not feeling well. Unfortunately it was Sunday, and I was scheduled to read the Watchtower.
I had to call in sick. "Guess I'm coming down with the flu or something. Headache, feverish chills, nausea...."
No more gin for me. (Not that that helped me when German police took me in custody years later ;-)
i am just curious if anyone knows whether the "friends" still are required to wear "meeting clothes" for attending meetings through zoom?
such emphasis on dressing in a godly manner over the decades, would be interesting if some attend in pajamas or their work clothes, no makeup, etc....
Yes, they stress up. Also the dubs have been told that even though they are in their own homes, they should behave as if they're in the KH. So no drinks or snacks during the zooming. I guess Jehovah doesn't approve of coffee?
this was sent to me by a cooky uber-dub.
apparently it's making the rounds locally...it's typical lighthearted jw satire (that they think is great!!
smh :-/ ) .
This is just silly.
Btw it's not satire. Satire is humourous ridiculing.

“The holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to you, except these necessary things, to follow the CDC guidelines (see hyperlinks). If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper.”
i don't know if anyone remembers me on here but i'm here to do an update again.. well, i'm 15 going on 16 soon i still remember watching my first video on youtube and learning that all the jw teachings are false and everything that follows.
crazy times, i have chosen to just focus on school and just trying to be a kid well a teen now but you get the point.
i'm not really mad about all the jw stuff i've come to accept that i couldn't have done anything to prevent it i was born into a family that was already into the religion.
Hi Akid,
Great to hear from you! Glad you're doing ok. Those books you plan to read are awesome. Enjoy!
today a dutch judge ruled that jw elders and the jw branch cannot invoke clergy-penitent privilege when it comes to information used in a judicial committee.. jw had filed a complaint with the courts because the branch office, two kingdom halls and a few elders' homes were raided by police almost 2 years ago in search of evidence related to child abuse issues.. jw argued that the information that was taken by police is protected by clergy-penitent privilege.
today the judge ruled that 1) an organization doesn't haven't such a privilege, 2) jw elders don't always act as spiritual counselors.
their actions as judges in judicial committees aren't protected by privilege, and 3) conversations jw have with their elders are often not confidential at all (as per jw policy) so jw elders can't rightfully invoke clergy-penitent privilege to maintain absolute confidentiality, because there isn't absolute confidentiality in the first place.. jw are thinking about appealing the verdict..
